They found somebody with more extensive programming and system administration experience, which is exactly what I felt my downfall for that position would be. The real kicker is that there were two other jobs there, both slightly lower down the ladder in user support rather than system administration. One of them I thought I had sent in an application for but now I can't find it in my sent mail folder. The other I totally missed because the application deadline was the day I was driving back from the interview. Darn.
I know I should keep trying, but this is pretty dissapointing and frustrating.
I'm starting to look at other areas, but Portland is still my #1 choice. Not only is it a great place where I already have friends, but it is actually affordable compared to most cities.
Back to the hunt, I suppose...
