robocowboy: (hideous)
Last week I had (yet another) round of blood tests.

So, all I really know is something is wrong. It is probably either my liver or my thyroid, and either way it is not good. I just have to wait to see my doctor next Friday to find out.

I've decided to abandon MIDI entirely. This is going to turn out pretty well, because after adding up all of the MIDI gear I can sell (plus some pedals and an old mixer I never use) I'd come out with at least $1000 and probably more like $1500. Wow! If I had added all of this up before, I'd have done it a long time ago! Then I'll dump all of that money into analog and modular synths, and get a good audio interface. Mmmmmmmmmodular.

Seriously. Why didn't I realize years ago that I just didn't like MIDI sequencers? I've gotta go with what I enjoy. Old school CV/gate is much more fun for me than MIDI. Computers are for recording, not for composing. Amen.

Tonight: photographing gear! Then craigslist! Huzzah!

Soooo... before I send stuff off into the unkown void, does anybody want to buy some gear?

big ol' gear list )

I'm probably keeping my two parametric EQ pedals, two of the delay pedals, and the almighty METALZONE (which I didn't list 'cause I ain't even thinking about selling it), but the rest of the pedals can go. I might let those EQs go, too. My mixer has sweepable mids, anyway. In fact, I have four different rack effects that can do delay, so I don't think I need any of the delay pedals, either. I might mod some of the pedals and turn them into synth modules if they don't sell. We'll see.

One more for today and then that's it.

Here at work, one of the guys in my group is movin' on up. That leaves an open position, or rather it will in about a month. So, if anybody out there is good with computers, audio in genearal, and digital audio in particular, give me a holler. Or, recommend a friend if you know somebody who's looking for such work.

I had mentioned this to [livejournal.com profile] beatings once before when there was an opening last year, but I doubt he wants to move down to SF and get all corporate. But you never know, [livejournal.com profile] beatings, this might still be open when you finish up your three months at Second Story. It would be great to have you down here!

Oh, and for no reason at all, here's one of those stupid quizzes. )
