Mar. 8th, 2006 02:01 pmHelp me edit the little story I'm going to have on the page to "explain" why me demo reel isn't really a demo reel.
I'd like to sound lighthearted and funny, not gloomy and complainy about past mistakes and losses. Any ideas how I can imporve this?
Since I cut my teeth in low-tech, disorganized media pits, most of my old work is inaccessible (on old UMATIC tapes or in the posession of friends many states away), destroyed (in the great hard drive crash of '03), or embarassingly cheezy (think: high school projects and community access).
I thought it would be a good exercise to try something completely new on my own and see what I could make in a short period of time. I taught myself stop motion animation while making this video, and learned a lot of new things very quickly. I'd learn a lot of new things very quickly at Current, as well.
This is something I whipped up in two evenings, from scratch. All images, video, and music is my own. Even if you're not into the style or content, it does at least demonstrate my abilities to take an idea to completion, quickly, and with no story, script, actors, or real production resources.
